Safety & Wandering

Take Me Home Program

A regional photo-based information system hosted by the Sheriff’s Department accessible by all Law Enforcement in San Diego.

Project C.A.R.E

A program to prevent social isolation in older individuals and/or those with physical or mental disabilities.

GPS Wandering Pilot Program

A pilot program to make GPS wandering-assist devices more accessible and available to families whose loved ones have Alzheimer’ disease or another dementia.

   

Abuse & Neglect

Adult Protective Services (APS)

APS investigates reports of elder and dependent adult abuse.

Long Term Care Ombudsman

Program advocates for residents in Long Term Care Facilities, such as nursing homes, as well as investigates abuse in other licensed facilities.

Community Care Licensing (CCL)

To report a complaint against any nonmedical licensed care facility, you may call the CA Dept. of Social Services CCL hotline at 844-538-8766 (844-LET-US-NO).

Department of Public Health (DPH)

Facilities that provide medical care and supervision, such as skilled nursing facilities, are licensed by the CA Dept. of Public Health.

San Diego County District Attorney’s Assisted Living Facility (ALF) Unit – Facility Elder Abuse
